That does address the disadvantages of a web interface for those with
limited or pay by volume bandwidth/connections.


RE spam: Web interfaces have been abused by spammers in the past.  It is
possible (and has most definitely been done) to write programs that will
pump spam into web message submission interfaces.  There are, I think,
technical fixes for this problem, and I suppose up to date interface
software will implement the fixes.

The current atmlist setup has been remarkably free of spam.  I don't
know how much, if any, maintenance is required to keep it this way, but
it is a very good thing.
