Note, I should have said I wouldn't do it for anything over about 4"
unless it was an exceptionally long F ratio mirror, for those very
reasons.

Yes but don't forget that tiles are usually much thinner than blanks
and you would likely grind through the edge making the effective tool
smaller as you go. There may be a greater scratching hazard with tile
chips
(much like glass chips)
