Re: [ATM] Large Corning Blanks
My read on those blanks was that they were for a transmission type
optical application and due to the rather extreme degree of stria
visibly present they were deemed to be unusable/irreparable for the
intended application.
However for a mirror blank they should be ok. That is assuming that the
colour variations are stria and not cracks!
Cheers, Thomas.

I saw them based on the original post, and was biting at the bit to bid.
Then, I decided to check on the condition, and saw they were
unserviceable
(H7).
I then downloaded the image, and viewed with a photo editor at 400%, or
something like that, and although pixilated, it appeared there was some
serious damage.
Hard to tell from the picture, but it appeared there were several areas
of
varying shades of color clearly delineated by what appeared to be
cracks.
I've dealt with DRMO many times while I was in the military. Usually,
when
something is deemed unserviceable, it often is.
I hope they're in decent condition for the person that did win the
auction.
The optical bench they had also caught my attention, although I figured
there were probably better benches to be had.
