In case you have a longish 'focuser tube', like the one shown on the photo,
you can use baffles inside this tube toshield off the sky light. Only light
that passes the secondary closely might then reach the eyepiece, but this
could be solved by oversizing it (the secondary would then serve as baffle
too). It is an alternative to shielding off the sky with the regular
extension on the front part of the scope, which would have to be much
larger.
All in all, if well designed, I think there is a lot of merit in this
'folded' Newt (which is in fact not folded, just a bit sharper than 45deg).
