Re: [ATM] Clutch material

Jean-Guy,
I've had great success with plastic from a milk jug. I don't know how
big a piece you need, they may not be big enough. It'll be a little
slipperier than cork, but the stiction is excellent.

Subject: [ATM] Clutch material

| Hi, after all those years(35), the cork like material that was used
| between the pressure plate and the gear of my Mathis drive
| is disintegrating. Things don't last anymore :)
|
| So what is the best material to substitute, and where can i get some ?
| Would teflon sheet be good ?
| The mounting is a large monstrosity of over 1000 lbs,
| 14" roller bearing in RA, 7.5" in Dec, gear is 12"
| Don't shake in the wind, but a little jerky right now.
|
| Thanks in advance,
|
| Jean Guy Moreau
