The eye/brain combination is really quite adaptive when it comes
to matching the images. You will get a headache from a long
viewing session before you will notice that the images won't fuse
properly.
If you've got a glass tabletop, that would be an excellent place
to assemble the mirror pairs to their backing. With plate glass,
one side is generally quite flat while the other side does have
some waviness so check to see which side is which before you end
up using the wavy side and building in more error than is
necessary.
