Odds are that the problems with your mirror are polished in
rather than ground in as they are only about a wave or so, if I
remember right.
Mark up the backside of the glass with something permanent -
probably etching in a pattern with glass etching chemicals or
doing a sandblasting of such - and use that as a reference to
doing the necessary figuring on the front of the glass.
Good luck!  You've gone a long way towards a very light mirror
already and only have a short way to go left.
