      To all,    I am not experienced at all in viewing knife edge images 
other than experimentation
with my plate glass (9" x 5/8" thick) "fun mirror".  Your question of the 
best "null" photo on your
Listing of such great graphic duplications to the cyberscreen was easy.... 
for me anyway..
  I looked at all images and chose the one that was the most equal on both 
sides of the image.
      I did not look at the answer, and chose "J" photo as the null.. To me 
if you look closely
this frame looks like the transitionary image from left to right or right to 
left.
      The "null" image is like a ghost that sometimes runs away from 
newbies... Because it is only
a fleeting moment.  Patience and "return to the beginning and try again" 
tend to interfere with
the notion of a quick grind, polish, mount,  coat, and observe attitude.
   Your presentation on this list has helped me and I am sure even those who 
feel they are
friendly with the curve-De Jour.. Great photos and text, I really enjoyed 
them...
