My masks are about a midpoint between equal area and equal radius in order
to reduce the size of the inner zone.
I did the test and found that I was one step off towards the negative.  The
high contrast of the images combined by the lack of movement of the shadows
(do some GIF movies of the 3 central zones to show how that makes a
difference) made the difference in the judgement.
The page is an excellent primer on reading zones with the Foucault tester.
