Perhaps the question ought to be why did you think it
would??

I could spend the next hour telling you why should
drop this project considering you don't seem to have
even a basic notion of how the process works.Yes I
know that is a cruel statement but I hate to see
people suffer needlessly.You need to go to some of the
warm glass lists on the net and learn the basics
before spending any more time at the kiln.

As for your question as to why the glass didn't stick
-slumpers use ceramics as molds over which they slump
the glass.Ceramics -depending on the mix are great
because they never will stick to the glass.. which is
what you wont......
