[ATM] Worm mounting

G'day Gary,

My worms are fixed to the worm wheel housing. It took a lot of mucking about to get the setting "right enough".
... read... -measure backlash- disassembly- machine off a thou- reassembly- repeat...

See website for details...

A pivoting and spring loaded mounting would have been better to make and use. 20-20 hindsight is a wonderful attribute to be born with and I lack.

As far as true tracking for ccd imaging...
I have two friends who do a lot of imaging. One uses a losmandy G11 and the other a paramount. They both agree that having a well setup system with good guiding and electronics is as important (if not more) than the finest worms, wheels, rollers available... In other words, mechanicals won't compensate telescope and mount flexure and atmospherics, electronics can.

My mount is lacking in the good electronics part of the equation (at the moment).

Regards

Dave
