Hey, another reason to work the Foucault test that way - non-uniform 
illumination.  If you just do a contrast match but the illumination of the 
two mask holes doesn't match, you'll end up with an incorrect 
reading.  Hmm, wonder if Diffract can simulate that - but the simulated 
illumination is, of course, exactly uniform.
