[ATM] Free large mirror machine
Honorable pushers of glass,
In the process of disposing of the estate of my dear friend and ATM, Howard
Moore, I am trying to find a home for a large Hindle 2-bay polishing
machine.
Both spindles were 16" diameter but it is currently carrying 24" spindles. It
would be helpful if as a gift it could be accepted by a non-profit
organization that would allow me to give it as a charitable donation. There
is also a small Elgin and other ATM machinery. Heaps of other stuff up to a
24" F4 mirror that needs refiguring.
Howards library of circa 1000 books has already been placed and some of his
telescopes and related equipment I gave to the local high school for a
dedicated astronomy program. Other ATM related materials were sold last week
end at an ATM yard sale which made a big dent in the selection. I'll never
be able to provide a list of everything.
This material is located near Prescott AZ.
Howard worked with me and Alan Adler in developing flex mirrors. See his
report on experimental work with a shaped back 6" F5 at www.flexmirror.com
(not a commercial site)
I do not wish to clutter the ATM site band width with this matter. I can
call and talk at length with anyone interested at no cost to me. Email me
your phone number or call me at 928-634-7291.
Bill Kelley
