Do you mean 'glass' or do you specifically mean
pyrex/borosilicate glass?. Common glasses melt well before Iron.
Heck, even pyrex melts before steel, but it would be pretty weak
steel at that temperature. 'Melts' is a difficult word to apply
to glass though, as it has a wide range over which it goes from
solid to liquid. Pyrex is worked at 1252 degC and Iron melts at
1260 deg C. Steels melt at 1350 degC upwards.
