OK. Poor choice of words but are we now being asked to decide which 
formula prevails and decide which one is right?  Like that ain't 
voting....

If some people don't have a problem with the test, then I don't think 
it is the test.  I'm sure we can dig up some historical data on this if 
we wanted too. I had a borrowed copy of "The Perfect Machine" so I no 
longer have it.  I thought Hale made some reference to the 200 inch and 
indicated figuring would be made easier now that "we have Foucault"?  
Did they use the Foucault on the 200 inch mirror?

I'd like to say "What about the Hubble?", but I doubt it was used on that:
