Re: [ATM] List "reference material"
Bob,
I first encountered your pages on mirror making about 18 months ago. Your
writing is practical, down-to-earth, and does a good job of demystifying to
help people feel that grinding their own mirror is really something they can
do. On rereading your pages, I realized that they are one of the main
sources of the newer ATM methods I have internalized and have been trying to
teach the ten newcomers in my TM workshop who seem to regard me as some sort
of knowledgible leader. (In truth, it is they teaching me.)
There are a number of interesting article titles on your home page. One
minor critique would be that the title, "Mirror Making with plaster tools",
does not attract as much attention as it should for your comprehensive
article. I recall passing over it on my first visit, though I did pick it
up on the second or third. Perhaps a title like "Grinding and Polishing
Mirrors by the Plaster Tool Method" would sound more substantial and give
newbies a better idea what is in store when they click that link.
For the content itself, perhaps I could print out the relevant sections for
the guys and gals who are working with me and have them read it with fresh
eyes. Then I could let you know (off list) what questions they are still
asking.
Regards,
Stuart Hutchins
