While I haven't personally used glass for the grinding surface on the tool,
others have and they haven't reported any bad things.
Also considering that the tile tool is merely replacing a much more
expensive glass tool, you should be able to use glass without any problems
in this regard.  I'd tend to set the glass so that the edge tilt is towards
the tool so that the glass will also be mechanically captured by the
material that is gluiing the glass to the whole tool.
