I decided to finally learn a little Java and translated the
first into a Java application:

    http://users.rcn.com/rflrs/GeeWyld.jar

Along the way, I added a couple of enhancements. I added better
visibility to the catalogs. In fact, using the catalog lookup
need be used as the way to get the glass values; no need to
decide what a Sellmeier coefficient or whatever is -- ignore it.
Pick the glass via catalog lookup (the entire catalog is listed)
and then go directly to doublet calculation (if you like the
wavelength values, that is;-).

Now all of this assumes that you can actually execute this
450 Kb monster. As little as I know about Java, I probably
know less about GUI development, so [thoughtful] criticism
is welcome. Otherwise, have fun!
