I often see a set of diffraction lines when I put my eye to the KE but,
oddly enough, have never seen them when using a camera.  I don't know why,
it just is with me.  It also seems that some mirrors do the lines easier
than others do.
If you really get disgusted with the lines or they are really bad, you might
want to spend $40 or so and get a little security camera from one of the
surplus places (they often sell for $25 but need a little wall wart to power
them) and put the video into a TV/monitor.  Then you also won't have to
worry about getting your eye in exactly the right place anymore.
