Hmmm put a 100 foot focal length lens on a flag pole in Chicago - - -catch
the glint of the Sun off one of the buildings and you have a wonderful
seismograph! They'd be better off with a Pinhole Camera - - -  a hole in the
wall won't cost them anything. Ludites like that cost us our wonderful
planetarium in Toronto.
