You might get advises from Jeff Baldwin who generates the rough curve in
large blanks
with sandblasting. <Jeff> are you with us? (if wanted I must have an URL
somewhere,
just ask)
Regarding "a series of flat holes" in the bottom, that's the way TEC
(telescope
copmany) uses or used to lightwright blanks. I do not know if they are
still in the
business (and have no connection with them).
When building a dobsonian meachnical parts, it is sometimes best to
have a relatively heavy mirror, so, think twice!
