The eliptical surface is just a fraction of what a parabola is. You can do
the testing many ways, either
1) calculating the fraction of the offset of the KE from a parabola and
going for that number or,
2) multiplying the reading of the KE by the inverse of the SC and putting
that into the Foucault tester or,
seperating the KE and the source light so that you are testing at the two
focii of the elipse. This may be a bit more difficult as you will need a
source of light that will handle the probably F2 or F3 cone that the primary
produces without any real degradation of the light at the edges.
