[ATM] ATM: "The Laser People"
David,
Well I must say that you must have reached the time when those outdated
methods just dont work any more. You know you cant collimate a reflective
system properly without a holographic laser. This is truly the future and
there is no nostalgia for those days gone by.
But then I am just speaking jokingly. I enjoy reading everything you have
given us so far David.
The method of collimation that I use has a used film can as the center of
its sophistication. Cut off the bottom and poke a hole through the dimple in
the top. This should be perfectly center. Place the newly made device into
the focuser and look through the little hole. Adjust the secondary mirror so
that you can completely see the primary mirror. Adjust the primary mirror
until the veins of the secondary are centered.
I guess my film can is no match for something as precise as a laser though.
