Peter (and all)
If you will write to me offlist, I will tell you how to collimate your
telescope with both hands tied behind your back and wearing a blindfold.
(Not really; I speak metaphorically). I request that we correspond off-list
so that I will not step on any (famous) people's toes; that is to say, I
would not want anyone to incorrectly find me arrogant or disrespectful,
especially any "famous" persons, as that is not something I care to have
happen; it is in poor etiquette. I am surprisingly more and more often
having the experience of finding a singular lack of etiquette on the part of
others in my dealings with them. I am always surprised when I do. I guess I
am from the wrong generation, the generation in which etiquette was
fashionable (does that date me?). In any case, I can tell you how to do this
so easily that you will forget about lasers, and all that other gimmickry,
all those special collimation aids. That is, if you would like to abandon
your obstacles and just get quickly collimated.
