[ATM] ATM: Lost (but now found) articles-
Hi David,
Ken Hunter submitted some of your articles and pictures to the "atm_free"
group on http://groups.yahoo.com a while back. They are in the Files
section.
When I was figuring my first 10 inch mirror, I found your article "Some
earlly Ilustrated notes on Figuring the Parabola" It was only partially
finished. I had gone back to a sphere several times over a period of
months -- after using the figuring stroke described by Texereau, I always
ended up with a zony mirror, and I could not improve it much no matter how
hard I tried. After reading your notes, -- cautioning against using the
"classic" figuring stroke, and giving an alternate stroke -- I was able to
take control of my figure, and finish the mirror.. I was hoping you would be
able to finish that article someday, since it stopped right at the
interesting part!!
Anyway It would be great if all your notes could be put on a web site
somewhere as you and Bob May mentioned.. I don't have a web site, but maybe
someone here has some room for them They helped me greatly.
Thanks much,
Mike Warne.
