There are several ways to do replys.  The best is to just manually copy the
relevant parts of the post when necessary and leave it to the others to
pickup the rest from the message thread.
Your email program should be able to either include the previous post
(include the message in the reply) or to not do so as an option.  The
problem happens that long posts with everybody including the reply is that
the whole thread evenually gets into each successive post and it usually
becomes a bore rereading everything and then finding where the reply is as
some people put the reply first (nicer) and others reply at the end where
you have to then scroll down pages of text to see the reply.  The worst is
the guys that interdisperse the replys into the whole set of posts and often
don't mark them as new material.  The < character is added each time that
the message is included at the beginning of each line and that can become
nasty when the next guy's reader does an automatic return to the line,
breaking it up into two lines.
