There comes a point at which the entire mirror fits into the palm of the
hand and that is a tendency to do.  I prefer to do it with finger tips in
the leading and trailing positions, as many fingers as necessary to fill the
backside and over the edge a little to control the mirror.
About a year back, I did a 4.2" F4 mirror and that was fun!
