No fire hydrant needed!
Just put your hands one in front of the other and push the mirror from the
1/3 stroke overhang point to COC with the forces on the overhanging edge.
This will quickly bring the outer parts of the mirror to a longer radius and
thus will quickly drop that inner part of the edge to where the TDE is.
