The thermal conductivity and light weight will make aluminum a great
material for a scope out in space but for here on earth, the need to
refigure when replacing the surface is the big problem with the heat
rentention the next.  Making one is always an interesting process but I
really don't think that it's worth it for us amateurs.  Maybe in 50 or a
hundred years when amateurs get out in space it will become something to do
but that's a fair bit away.
