I would expect that the test would be a bit difficult as you are going to be
seeing a lot of different stuff. You might also want to throw it onto the
Foucault tester and put the light (you will want a bright one here) return
fully on the knife edge and look for scattering of the light by pits. They
stand out very well as a fuzzy ring of light (considering that the center
usually polishes out first) on the mirror all the way around the glass that
doesn't go away with KE movement. I usually use the finder LED (large
ultrabright red LED) on the tester that I am using and get a very
substantial indication back.
