You can use the other side if you so desire.  The mirror support won't care
at all that the mirror has a spherical shape on the backside.  Actually, it
would be better than what most would have on the backside because it would
at the least be decently smooth of a shape.  If you're lucky, you will have
almost no wedge between the front and the back of the glass and that will
make things even nicer as the collimation won't change if the mirror moves
in rotation when you transport it.
