Re: ATM Aluminum adhesive

<<A long time ago I ran onto some stuff made from sheet aluminum. It
was fabricated using a tough, slightly flexible, medium grey
adhesive. It was impossible to separate 2 sheets put together with
this stuff.

Anybody know what it was? It looked kind of like JB Weld, but you
could dent it some with your fingernail and it wasn't shiny. >>

Jim, There is a material called "Alucobond" that is almost exactly as
you described. It is two sheets of 0.030 inch (?) aluminum bonded to a
high density polymer. The overall thickness is 0.125 inch, maybe a bit
more. The polymer is black in the samples I have. We used it several
years ago for a project. It is used to make signs and the sides of
enclosed trailers among other things.
