ATM Tall 2" focusers question

Can anyone recommend a tall (3" or better travel) 2" metal Newtonian focuser? 
I see that both University Optics and Orion sell them. Is one better than 
another? And finally -- does the oil used in the rack and pinion gearing tend to 
stiffen in these focusers during the cold months? I will eventually be using it in 
subzero weather. The scope is a short focal length RFT.
