I think you misread the post. There wasn't a suggestion to cut
the circle with a tablesaw (which would be pretty tricky, and
dangerous). Instead, the suggestion was to cut an arch in the back of
the circle, so the circle would fit against the tube better. This is a
reasonably safe procedure.
