Fw: ATM Black paint
What does anyone recommend for the least reflective black paint for
the
plywood surfaces of a dobs? And, do you put the paint on BEFORE or
AFTER the sealer? [The recommendations I've gotten for sealer so far
have been Mini-Wax Valspar, yacht varnish, West System epoxy 105
resin
with 207 special coating hardener covered with a coat of polyurethane
varnish, Polycrylic, and Pro Finisher-Lacquer.]

Hi Carl,
Well, everybody says: Krylon Ultra Flat Black #1602. Go to
Wal-Mart $2.97. Please be careful, as "color matches the cap" and
it don't mean nothin! Look on the back of the can at the lower
right hand corner for what color it is. I "almost" made a mistake
and bought the "semi flat" based on the cap color. It's not easy to
read the back of the can when you are over 40! <grin> But I got
the "right stuff"! The semi black cap looked darker to me, but it
is just plastic, and not the paint inside. I assume you are wanting
flat black for the inside of a tube or something else that is in the
light path? If so, don't forget to "paint" the surface with water
and Elmers Glue (1/2 and 1/2 mixture), and then to throw sawdust (or
something better - crushed walnut shells?) on it - Let it dry, and
then paint it (from both sides) with the Krylon. Several light
coats. We're really getting "rough" here!
I hope this helps!

PS - After the sealer will be fine.
