ATM Truss vs. tube

Hi,

I am in the process of grinding a 10" f5.6 mirror. Since I want this
scope to be portable (carry it in my 1992 Nissan Sentra), I was wondering
what is the best way to make it portable. I have the following three
options.

1. Make the tube shorter (This would mean figuring would be difficult, as
    this is my first mirror

2. Use a sonotube. But make it such that it it can be taken apart in the
middle. I saw this idea somewhere on the web, but it was using a
square wooden box rather than a sonotube. Then the question arises as
to what are the potential problems because of this.

3. Use a truss. The problem with this approach is that I did not find
    any material for truss designs.

Now at this point, I am not able to make up my mind. So, if someone can
please clear these things up for me, it would be great.

Regards,
Balaji

PS: Thanks for all those who replied to my question about the minimum
required tools. I decided to go with a hacksaw, hammer and a electric
drill.
