Re: ATM 6" or 8" mirror

I too am more of the "bigger is better" attitude as far
as mirrors go. I purchased an 8" kit from Newport recently,
but, for an extra $18, I got them to swap the standard
glass tool for a second pyrex one. We're going to make
2 identical scopes, one for my son & one for my wife.
Cost was virtually identical to W'/Bell's kit (but no
netting included). Price difference between 6 & 8 is
so little, I couldn't see going for the 6, especially
since these are going to be used more in the city than
under dark skies, and if there really is significant
difference in the time or effort, I figure it's worth it
for nearly double the light.

I also purchased extra 80 grit & extra CeO at the same
time, just in case.
