The resolution is whatever the printer provides, regardless of whether
you use ghostscript or the printer does it "native". Native postscript
printers interpret the postscript and turn it into a raster, which is
exactly what ghostscript does - it just does it on your PC instead of
on a small computer inside the printer.

Ghostscript is available free for non-commercial use from Aladdin software
