I am making an 8" dob, polishing the mirror myself, and making the
focuser, spider, diagonal holder, etc.

My costs are:
$150  (Newport Glass)  8" plate glass mirror, tool, diagonal, coating
after finished grinding
$15 (Crazy Ed's Optical)  12" Ebony Star, Four 5/8" x 1" Teflon and
three 1" x 1" Teflon
approx. $50  eyepiece

Figure another $30 for miscellany (plywood, paint, etc.), and you have
yourself a really kewl telescope :).
