ATM Tubes
Hi,
I am the (proud) owner of a 6" Simak scope which I use to
take pictures on top of a G11 mount. I am happy of my
instruments ... but not 100% ! In fact the optics, manufactured
by a renowned italian optician, are wonderful but the way the
have been installed in a 'plastic' tube is really a mess. Plus
the company which setup the tube choose an approach I do not
like ... shifting the primary mirror in order to focus. I bought
a wonderful 2" helical non rotating focuser and some other nice
gadgets to improve my telescope ... I am ready for the remodeling ...
but I still don't have a decent tube.
I want it to be easy to paint on the outside, easy to make dark
on the inside, easy to connect to the plate I use with my G11 mount,
I want it to be fast adapting to the outside temperature ... basically
I want it to work but to be available somewhere out of my fantasy !!!
Does anyone here have any ideas ? I love aluminum tubes but I am
open to suggestions ...
Thank in advance,
Andrea Salati
