David, A good camera store should have a lens extender for you camera
for close-up work or they can get it. They sometimes come in sets for
doing moderate (under 4 ft.) to extreme (1 inch) close-up photography. 
All of the major camera manufacturers make them.  If your local store
doesn't carry them, pick up a copy of one of the photography mags and
call a mail order advertiser.
