ATM Mercury Ring Edge Support

I'm in the design stage for a 22" f4.5 truss tube telescope to be driven by
Mel's system. I have some queries about mirror support and I would
appreciate any suggestions given. I intend building a flotation cell,
either 18 or 27 point, or is 27 point a bit if overkill? The mirror is 2"
thick.
I've read and heard mention of inflated mercury rings for edge support and
I would like some practical info on fitting one of these to the cell.What
is the ring made of and what are its dimensions? About how much mercury
would it hold, how do you get the mercury into it and how do you maintain
the level? What precautions have to be taken to prevent the mercury leaking
from the system as the telescope is transported about?
