Two ways to check out your mirror:

1) The easiest way to get a ballpark reading of where your mirror is at,
is to set up a Ronchi test.  check out the archives for this list, there
are MANY posts on this subject. 

2)Or, try to do a 'star test' on your instrument, which has to do with
the out of focus images of a bright star.  Richard Berry's book "How to
makae a Telescope" has a brief article on this, and may also include
information on 1)
