Re: ATM FREE TELESCOPE TUBES!

<< 8x snip----- regarding photocopier drums....
Since scrap yards accept them, I assume that they are non-toxic, but just
to be safe, I was careful when removing the coating not to get any on my
hands. I then allowed the used towel to dry and placed it in a zip lock
plastic bag in the trash.

Hi David, use of these drums may need further discussion because of the
coatings. The two types I am familiar with are Selenium (the shiny metal type)
and Cadmium (usually a yellow color coating). The chemists on the ATM listserv
might advise proper handling and disposal procedures.

Also, my copier guys says he gets a core refund and always recycles the
aluminum drums back for recoating.

Copiers are an excellent source of miscellaneous parts: bearings, stepper
motors, lenses, shafts, fans. I've always thought they were a telescope put
together wrong.

Chin and eyes up!
