I'm sure I don't need to tell you this so I state it for any beginners.  If the
 star diagonal uses a prism instead of a mirror you must multiply the 
physical path length through the glass by the index of refraction of the glass
to get the effective optical path length.  For most purposes n=1.5 is good
enough.
