ATM Ronchi vs Colllimation

Hello everyone:

    I've been a subscriber to the Digest for some time and, I must say,
   its been much more than interesting and enlightening, its been a 
   godsend for its breath and depth of coverage of the diversity of
   topics that comprise ATM.  

    Unfortunately I've a question that perhaps might provoke some pyrex 
  brickbats, given the extensive and convoluted discussions involving
  the subjects of ronchi testing and collimation. Simply put, how    
(rigorously) important IS collimation to ronchi testing?
