ATM Rotating Cradle Rings

I'm making a Borg (part metal, part wood) equatorial mount that is mostly like
a split ring with forks. What I need is some advice for making rotating cradle
rings for a solid (non-truss) optical tube assembly. The ideal design would
allow for very easy tube rotation, with a moving force about equal to the other
two axes. Any words of wisdom?

If bend my own rings from aluminum stock I guess I need to make or buy a
rolling former. Does anyone have plans for one of these gizmos?

I searched the archives for rings (found: grinding, finder, defraction, wooden,
PVC, bathtub.......) but not too much on these cradle rings. If you remember a
good thread or web page URL, I 'd appreciate a pointer search word clue.

Chin and eyes up!
