Buy a cheap telescope and you have a cheap telescope.  I don't
know where the telescope was built but is will probably do fine
as a light bucket.  High power views may not be excellent as most
commercial scopes are built to a lower standaard than home built
ones.
The problem with telescope construction is that it is the
integrety of the inspector for the mirrors to qualify the mirror
to whateveer standard that the company selects.  The final step
of construction of a mirror is all hand contruction and parabolas
are not all that easy to do.  For Five hunndred dollars tho, you
can always enjoy a scope for a decently long time before getting
the bug to do a really good telescope.  Thus, your mechanical
assy. can become the basis for you much better mirrors.
