[ATM] The dobson solar scope

Heart of the Valley astronomers are going to be at the annual science
celebration in Corvallis Oregon, Da Vinci Days.  This year we will be
outside and I am thinking of making a Dobson type solar scope as part of
the display.  Has anyone made one of these?  Any pointers?

I see some 2.5 inch uncoated f10 mirrors on Surplus Shed for a couple of
bucks.  They also have a Kodak plate mirror for about the same price.  I'm
thinking there are the optics.  I can get the filter from the local
welding shop.  Huygens eyepiece.  Cardboard tube.
