Re: [ATM] Mirror question
If it was polished enough for you to think it was polished completely it
will probably work ok. I say keep and use it as is (at least for a little
while) and do a better job on your next mirror. You might be surprised how
well it will work. If you don't like it you can still polish again later. It
is worth the learning experience to see how it does. If it was one of those
2 mirror blank kits make the other one into a mirror.
You know it is polished completely when the coater doesn't send a note back
with it saying it is not polished completely.

Hello All,
I bought an 8" mirror grinding kit awhile back. I read up on techniques for
grinding and I figured I would take a chance. I ground it down and polished
it to a point I "thought" was good, I sent it off for coating and it came
back coated but they also put a note in the box saying the mirror was not
polished completely.
So, being new at this, what is my next step? Do I re-polish it with the
coating on? or, do you somehow remove the coating, then polish. Then, the
most important question of all, how do I know when it's polished completely?
Thanks in advance
John
